Some people have natural talent, some people develop talent, some people have chemical talent. Amy Winehouse, regardless of the source, did possess talent.
Much speculation has surfaced recently about whether Amy will release a third ablum, seeing as it has taken her the last six months to get two tracks laid down. My question is - why should she bother?
Amy is on a collision course with oblivion. Were she to get serious and garner the strength needed to get back in the studio, who would she be doing it for? Most likely not herself. It would be for the benefit of the record company and well-wishing 'friends and family', who are more than willing to allow her to burn out provided they get a slice of the action.
Amy is most likely going to be late for her next birthday. So why not take the time remaining and do what she does best - self destruct - but at a pace that suits her.
When she is gone, Amy Winehouse will be nothing more than a back catalogue. Why make it cushier for the camp followers?

No Yule Log for Amy
Amy Winehouses's jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil, who is currently serving a 27 month sentence at Highpoint prison in Suffolk, England, is unlikely to be released at Christmas. It is said that he has been denied an early exit, after reportedly failing two drugs tests. (Surprise, surprise...)
A source close to Ms Winehouse has been reported saying of Amy "She has spent all summer trying to get herself clean and wanted Blake home. She is deeply saddened that she will be spending New Year alone."
All summer trying to get herself clean...? If this summer has been a clean-up, I would love to see her get down and dirty!

Amy uses Salaam Remi, No Solace for Mark Ronson
Going back to the days when Amy was working on her debut album, Frank, Amy has been in the studio working on her newest album with producer Salaam Remi.
It looks like Amy and Mark Ronson haven't managed to patch up their differences since the abortive attempt at laying down the track for the new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace.
Whether there can be any solace for Ms Winehouse is yet to be seen, after the promoters of Rock en Seine have stated that they will be sueing after Amy pulled out of the concert.
